Get Organized-Creating Beautiful Spaces With Kids
A passion of mine is creating spaces that are beautiful and functional for kids.
The world is moving at such a fast pace, let's slow down and get back to the basics, simplify, and modify.
Let's pause for a moment to stop and smell the roses, make a mud pie, or lay a spell and make animal shapes out of the clouds in the sky.
slow down we move to fast, gotta make the moments last.

Home Activities Designed With Kids In Mind
Start by taking inventory of what your kids have.
When it comes to toys here are a few suggestions to help eliminate...............
If there are multiples, donate those items.
If the toy is broken or damaged, discard the item.
I have a tendency of gravitating to natural toys. Wooden blocks, ect....
These are a keeper for me. They have a tendency to be a little more sturdy than it's plastic counter part.
To many littles (Bouncy balls, minature toys) is like having to many tchotch·ke's (Nick- nacks). Limit the small items that come into your home. Small toys are hard to keep track of and they are pesky to keep contained.
Can the toy be used in more than one way? If not think about donating.
Do the toys inspire creativity/imagination? Or do the toys dictate the play.
This will begin the process of purging.
Now Go Create!
Staging objects invites children to the table and provides opportunity for kids to inquire about these objects. Peridically change the items. I love bringing natural materials into the mix.
Kids at Play
With so many books available to kids and about kids, it is overwhelming at times to see through the haze of anime. I love sharing some of my favorite books.
This book guides and encourages kids to explore and get down and dirty. Activities that emphasize the exploration of nature.
I have fond memories of playing with playdough as a child. Creating, designing. and pretending. As a former preschool teacher I was introduced to homeade playdough. I like homemade playdough because I know what is in it. If a child eats it I don't have to worry about the chemicals that store bought playdough has in it. If you want to try making your own batch at home, there is a recipe on the following page.
